Get to Know Me

My name is Kaylin Hynes and I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and minored in creative writing and international relations and diplomacy.

I am currently searching for full-time work in marketing, copywriting, or any position that can utilize a passionate, hard-working writer.

My most recent professional experience was after graduating from Ohio State. I moved to Chicago (a life-long dream of mine) to join the content team at Neighborhoods.com, a real estate start-up, as an associate editor. In my role, I edited and produced content for the blog and on-site copy. I also focused on learning as much as I could on how to drive organic traffic to the blog using a new SEO strategy. In only four months, the blog's traffic increased by about 110%.

At Neighborhoods, I also was one of the founding members of the social committee. I loved being able to plan and facilitate office events that brought the company's employees together. At my next job, I plan to contribute to the company culture positively as I did here.

Before that, I was an editorial intern for The Ohio State University Alumni Magazine, a quarterly magazine that is sent to a circulation of more than 100,000 alumni subscribers.

I also am the former copy desk chief at The Lantern, Ohio State's student-run paper. Before that, I covered development and construction on campus and the surrounding Columbus area.

Outside of my professional experience, I enjoy reading (add me on Goodreads.com!!), spending time with my family, cooking, running, and attempting to keep all my houseplants alive.

Please feel free to reach out to connect.

A firm friendship in any language
